getting old.

Last time I wrote here, I was 23. Now I am an old 24!

I had a fabulous birthday full of friendship and love and Mardi Gras (my birthday was on Fat Tuesday and my local bakery, the one in Detroit, had buttercream-filled Paczki which was amazing since I'm not a fan of jelly/fruit-filled donuts, but that is beyond the point) The point is I had a great birthday. And I looked fab, too. That's important.

I'm looking forward to seeing what age 24 will bring. Hopefully a lot.

I went to dinner with two of my sorors, and this made us ROLL laughing. I love it!

cupcakes and cuties.

I can't wait for Cupcakes and Cuties III! Cupcakes and Cuties II was a blast.
The cupcakes were cute and the cuties were even cuter.

I am, usually, a fan of Valentine's Day. This year, I hit some rough patches getting there, but in the end, it was still lovely. I was surrounded by pinks and reds and whites, friends and family and food, and lots and lots of love and laughter.

I guess that what my version of Valentine's Day is all about. I got to make people smile and I smiled along with them. I wouldn't give this up for the world.

Would I have enjoyed a fancy dinner or a romantic evening? YEAH?! And when that person and time comes, I'll be happy to enjoy it. Though I doubt I'd cancel Cupcakes and Cuties for a him. . .

But, again, THIS is what I'm happy to be able to do. I love my friends. They are always there for me and I love being there for them. Now on to the cupcake parade!

cupcakes and cuties: the (cheap) champagne edition.

Today was shopping for Cupcakes and Cuties II, now dubbed the champagne edition, as I spent entirely too much money on cheap bubbly. I am looking forward to happily tipsy friends and sillyness.

The cupcakes are looking yummy and I tried my hand at pretty decorating. I can't wait to feed my friends!

Love. Love. Love. Love.
Tomorrow!

v-day blues.

Cupcakes and Cuties is still on. Wooooooooooo!
I'm excited to hang out with friends and make them happy. Well, at least try;)

At the same time, I'm kind of sad to be without a Valentine, again. (That situation is crap-tastic)
I keep saying, one day, but it doesn't happen.

But Cupcakes and Cuties will be a blast!
I still have a lot of shopping to do for it. . .
Can't wait to see how everything turns out!

lunch.

My sister and I usually make lunch on Monday and Wednesdays (well my sister usually makes it, i supervise . . . or play on the internet ;)). Today we decided to do lunch out, and she took me to an amazing new place: Beezy's.

Their mission:
At beezy's, we strive to uphold the best of the past and be good stewards of the present. When you walk into the doors, we want you to feel something— something familiar and nourishing, something timeless and yet entirely fresh. We want to know your name and your story, and to take you in and feed you great food that leaves more than just your belly feeling good.

They do a good job. . .

It is good. If you are in Ypsilanti or somewhere close, please, please go. I had the most delicious soup -- It was chunky and full of vegetables and just great. My sister had the BLT and it looked amazing. . . she thought it was good, too.

They also sell Bettermade chips and Faygo (in the glass bottles!)

(I have pictures, I just have to figure out how to get them off of my phone. . . )

b-i-b-l-e.

I've never read the entire Bible. I've read lots of passages, but not the entire thing.
This weekend, my mother bought me The Message Remix 2.0 (I helped pick it out), which is the Bible in 'plain, contemporary English'. I really like it and it has inspired me to read it from cover to cover.

There tends to be a lot of humor in this translation (at least I hope it's supposed to be humor, my mom and I have been known to crack up at some of the wordings and stuff)

It's small and hardcover and makes reading it anywhere pretty easy to do.

I don't know. Just thought I'd share. It's pretty happy-making.
